ModelCo LashExtend Fibre Mascara in Black RRP £16 or Free with Glamour Magazine £2.

I had been wanting to try a Fibre Mascara for sometime as I remember receiving a sample of a similar product a while ago and I loved it. As I have really sensitive eyes I begrudge paying a large amount of money on a mascara that I may not necessarily get on with so samples and freebies are a god send in my eyes (Ignore the pun :) hehe!)

I have seen other great reviews on ModelCo make-up so I was excited to have heard that Glamour had collaborated with ModelCo to include either a lip liner, lip gloss, eyeliner or this fibre mascara as a free gift with this months magazine. I couldn't resist and I just had to pick one up.

So I don't normally wear two coats of mascara for day wear but I thought I would to show the difference. The mascara contains micro fibres which attach themselves to your eyelashes whilst applying the product itself, despite my lashes looking very voluminous and full after two coats surprising my eyes felt very light and 'natural' which I am very impressed with as I hate heavy lashes.

This mascara is great to add instant length and volume however I will say that during the day I was moaning at work as my eyes felt 'bitty' as I felt the fibres falling off and the mascara started irritating my eyes even if it was for a while.

The following day I decided to try using one thin coat of the LashExtend and one coat of my YSL Babydoll mascara and the results were a lot more natural and the product was not as crumbly. My eyes managed this combination through the whole day without irritation so it's a thumbs up.

I personally prefer the LashExtend as a base coat to my usual mascara rather than using this purely as a mascara as I find the results to be a lot neater and less clumpier and the mascara doesn't irritate my eyes.

Have you used the ModelCo Fibre mascara? What other mascara's do you recommend?
