Maybelline Anti-Shine Stick £8.99 Boots

I had recently been after a concealer that works well with my foundation, I often find that concealers and foundations can be quite 'cakey' together. I had read this review on another blogs and I really wanted to try it.

The Maybelline 'FIT Me' stick or also known as the Anti Shine Stick is in fact a foundation, this was probably me not really paying attention but I did assume this would be like a cover up stick without the full foundation coverage.

The foundation is easy to apply and doesn't leave lots of mess on your fingers which is great. I wore this on top of a primer and applied by kind of drawing the product across my face then using a brush to blend in.

The instant results were great, and the product could have easily been worn alone on top of a primer or even with a small amount of powder. After a couple of hours I felt like my skin was really oily and the product felt like it was sliding off, as I work in an office this is something I cannot risk. I also tried the product without any primer as I wanted to see if it was the combination of both but the same thing had happened.

The product advertising that it 'absorbs oil and controls shine for a natural-looking flawless finish' however I strongly have to disagree with this, I certainly didn't feel flawless and I felt that my skin felt more oily than normal when wearing this.

I am quite disappointed with this product as I really wanted to get on with it as I wanted to find a foundation that worked well and didn't cost a fortune, for now it looks like I will sticking with my trusted YSL Touché Éclat foundation despite the price tag this is the only foundation I am currently getting on with.

Have you used the FIT anti-shine stick? What matte foundations would you recommend?

  2. I'm not sure if I read over it or not but does this foundation has a good coverage? I'd use it on my cheeck area which is quite dry so I guess I wouldn't have problems with the sliding off.. Nice review ! xx
