Guest Post: My Favourite Essence Products

Sunday, August 09, 2015

Hi, I'm Heather from the blog Of Beauty & Nothingness which is my little corner of the internet where I talk about all things beauty and lifestyle as well as the occasional OOTD and giveaways! I'm lucky enough to be guest posting today, talking all about my favourite products from the German brand Essence.

Since attending the launch of Essence Cosmetics in the UK last year, I have been pretty much obsessed with their products, from the mascaras and liners to powders, concealers and lipsticks with only the odd product or two that have been disappointing. There are so many Essence products that I love and would recommend! Here are my  favourite products from Essence!

First up, lets start with concealers, powders and highlighters. I've tried a couple of Essence foundations and they are great but the shades are always far too dark for my ghostly pale skin but the Essence Stay All Day Concealer in 10 Natural Beige is perfect for me and it doesn't emphasise dryness *win win*. The Essence Fixing Powder is also fantastic, I have already gone through one compact and I'm working my way through the second; it's a fantastic setting powder even for dry skin as it doesn't cake or look heavy. Lastly, in this category is the Essence Soo Glow Cream to Powder Highlight - whenever I see the words 'cream to powder' I always stay away as I have dry skin but this highlight is gorgeous!

Another category that Essence do very well are lip products, especially their lipsticks which considering the very low price point, are fantastic! I have quite a few of their lipsticks and most are pigmented, creamy, comfortable and wear off well. The shades 06, 09 and 07 are all so pretty! The Essence XXL Glosses are also lovely and long wearing for lip glosses; the matte version are the best though.

Lastly, mascaras, shadows and liners; the goodie bag from the Essence event last year was incredible and very generous and I received quite a few mascaras. The Essence Lash Mania Waterproof Mascara is amazing for length and definition as is the Essence Plump No Clump Mascara. Their liners are well worth checking out too, I love the Essence Liquid Ink Liner for really precise and very black winged liner. Last but not least, the shadows, I have only tried a couple of eyeshadow quads from Essence and one of them was a bit of a miss because of chunky shimmer but the others are great for the price.

Overall, I think Essence is a fantastic brand with great quality products at a low price point. I would personally recommend all of their nail polishes, mascaras, concealers, lipsticks, powders and glosses that I've tried and I've been lucky enough to try quite a lot! I have so many posts featuring Essence cosmetics on my blog if you are looking for makeup looks and full reviews.
