Hi, I'm Gara. I am 17, a book worm and a world, beauty, sports and photography lover. I am a journalism and media student and I am the founder and editor of Things We Didn't Do. My blog, TWDD is an explosion of creativity, authenticity and willingness. Every thought about life is brought back to life in every single post.

“There is a kind of beauty in imperfection.”    Conrad Hall

Every single day on Earth a new product is being created. However, not all of them work on every skin combination. Beauty is just basically the quality of being pleasing and it revolves around psychological factors such as charisma, intelligence, personality and elegance. To sum up, beauty means an explosion of different qualities not just being physically attractive.

Focusing on the aesthetic basis, all I want to point out is that you should treat yourself with beauty products because you want to and not because you feel the necessity to do it.

I started wearing make-up when I was 14 years old and I did what every teenager does first; thick black liner, lots of mascara and glossy lipsticks. As you grow you also find products that suit your skin the best and make you feel comfortable. Please, to feel pretty you must not wear tons of make-up or a suffocating liquid foundation.

Isn't it unbearable to think that for society beauty presents a standard of comparison? We are human beings and owners of our own complexion! We can try to change things to make huge differences but we must respect our bodies, personalities, imperfections, etc. Philosopher Confucius once said it, "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it".

I'm not one to talk because I use as much make-up as the next one but I highly recommend a good range of skincare products to help maintain your skin hydrated as well as tanned when in summer. My skincare routine consists of just two products, Facial Soap and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ both by Clinique. At first, I thought it was fine to clean my face with wipes and then moisturize my face with some cream: What a fail! It is very important to remove make-up with some cleanser (I'm currently using the Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water for eyes and face) and then use some facial soap and rinse it before applying some moisturiser. If you want to maintain your summer tan then I suggest using some body butter (Virgin Mojito Body Butter by The Body Shop) or body moisturiser (Escada Joyful by Escada).

Last but not least, inner beauty should be the most important part of improving one's self and is very important to remember that beauty products (make-up) are not the way to love our appearance but a mechanism to treat us.

"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all."
